Date Field Time Opponent Subs Write-up
5/4 VV#1 9:30 FRS

Men all hit the ball well and most of the women struck out.  They really struggled to find a pitcher who could throw strikes.

Mary for Tracy

Scott out

Played with 4 guys and 6 women

W 21-6.  They walked 10 people in the first inning.  A very chilly night and a W in the books for the Sheep!
5/11 VV#1 7:20  Hopkins/Mtka

They struggled at the plate.

Alan for Scott

Janis for Ann

W 13-2Could the weather be any worse?  Week 1 was cold and week 2 is rainy.  We hit the ball well tonight and the opponents struggled at the plate.
5/18 VV#2 6:15  Leann Chin

All but one tennis shoe guy could hit to the warning track.  They had 2 lefties.  Pitcher liked to put a lot of arch on the ball.

Janis for Elissa

Stephanie for Dawn

Neil out

Played with 5 guys and 6 women

L 6-8 Last year's champs.  Very close game - they came through in the last inning with multiple warning track hits.
5/25 VV#3 6:15  Rivers End

Good defensive team.  All right handed players.  Guy at 1B.  3B hits deep to LCF.  Striped shirt Rick likes to hit to RF.

Kayne for Scott

Nick for Rich

W 11-5 The Sheep pulled in Nick and Kayne for this game, and they helped the flock pull out a W.  Despite a nice outfield circus act mid way through the game, the Sheep stayed focused, cashed in on some pitcher challenges and came up victorious.
6/1 VV#2 6:15  McGladrey & Pullen

This was a very good team - they hit well and they made very few errors.  They started hitting to RF in the second half of the game.

Walfoort for Rich

Jodi for Ann

L 12-18 Our opponents were on and we were not firing on all cylinders.  The Sheep made some costly errors in the field, and couldn't keep the opponent hitters at bay in the late innings.  It was close for a while, but ended up in a 10 run elimination situation in the 6th inning.
6/8 VV#3 8:25  Diamond Cutters

Their left fielder guy was their big hitter - liked to go to LCF or up the middle.  3B woman could hit very deep also.  Pitcher liked to keep it very flat and the ump was calling them strikes.  They started hitting to RF in the second half of the game.

Scott and Dawn out

We played with 10

L 5-22 It all fell apart in the 6th inning when we gave them about 6 outs and 14 runs.  The Sheep just couldn't bounce back.
6/15 VV#3 7:20  Job BOSS

SS guy hits deep to both sides.  LF pulls it every time.

Jodi for Elissa

Walfoort for Scott

Neil and Dawn out - we played with 10

W 23-15.  The Sheep hit over 500 for this game and had a great start with 9 runs in the 1st.  Matty had a great.  He was 5 for 5 with 3 HRs and 9 RBIs.  Heather and Matt L also went 4 for 5 each.
6/22 VV#3 7:20  Furies

Lefty P guy hits deep to right side.  #22 LF guy, #23 SS guy, #15 RCF guy all hit deep to left side.  #21 3B guy weak pull hitter.  LCF woman hits deep to left side.  2B woman hits to right side.  All other women hit to left side of the infield.

Janis for Tracy

Jodi for Jessi

Walfoort for Rich

Alan for Scott

Kayne for Matt

Kenny and Dawn out - we played with 10

L 14-15.  We started out hot with 7 runs but we couldn't score in the next 4 innings.  They chipped away at the lead.  They gave us a couple walks and errors in the 6th inning and we came within striking distance.
6/29 VV#3 9:30  Regis

1 lefty guy #26 P can hit deep to right side but not very quick. Very good LF #15 hits to left side. 1B guy pull hitter - not very deep. LCF guy hits deep to left side. Black visor woman plays LCF with a good arm and pops up to the left side. 2 lefty women.

Janis for Tracy W 18-14.  The Sheep had their best night at the plate this season and batted a cumulative 605 to hand Regis their first loss of the season.  They were ahead by 5 after 3 innings, but we only gave them 1 run in the next 3 innings.  We had a big 6th inning with 7 runs.  The Sheep also played solid defense this game.
7/6 VV#1 7:20  Shenanigans

No lefties.  Guy at 1B 3B SS LF#4 RCF#14. Great range at SS and LF.  Weak LCF.  Most guys hit to all sides. LF 1B SS deep. RCF to infield. 3B lazy to left side. Pink w/ grey sleves to shallow LF LCF. Goth to left side.

Kayne for Scott W 14-12.  Our second big win in a row.  Shenanigans had only lost 2 games so far and they were a great hitting team.  Holding them to only 12 runs was quite an accomplishment.  The Rich - Dawn combination in the infield accounted for many great putouts and we came up with a couple big innings at the plate.
